Awkwafina
Awkwafina was an American actor and musician. She started by releasing humorous, cleverly written music that tackled questions of racial identity as well as sexuality. Then she expanded her fans to Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was her first instrument. In the following years, she took up hip-hop and classical training. While at school, she studied journalism as well as women's studies, and was taking classes in Mandarin in Beijing for a stint. It wasn't until after graduating when she decided to turn her attention on music. The year 2012 saw My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an internet hit and was included in her debut album Yellow Ranger. It also contained viral hits such as the body-positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown the city of New York Bitche$. The track that was second on the album linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide that was published in 2015, which was an additional initiative. In addition to having a book published, her other career was singing. In addition to early shows like Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in movies such as Neighbors as well as Storks. In the year 2018, she was offered an array of noteworthy roles including Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released in June.
