
Leona Louise Lewis, born on April 3, 1985. She is an actor as well as a singer and activist who hails from Britain. She was born and raised in the London Borough Of Islington she was educated at the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology, Croydon. Lewis could gain national attention when she won the third season of The X Factor in 2006. She also received an PS1 million recording contract with Syco Music. The single she won, which was a cover Kelly Clarkson's hit song "A Moment Like This" was downloaded 50,000 times in just 30 minutes and was ranked at the top of the charts for four weeks. Clive Davis's label J Records, signed Lewis to a deal for five albums in the United States. Lewis continued her success by releasing Spirit Her first studio album. It sold 10x platinum and certified by the UK. Spirit became one of the top four albums sold in 2000, and it was also one of the top-selling UK albums. Spirit, according to Official Charts Company is the greatest-selling debut album by a female musician. The album's first single "Bleeding Love" remains at the top of the UK chart for seven weeks before becoming the single with the highest sales in the year 2007. It also was the top-selling song in the US in the year. Lewis won the Billboard Best New Artist Award the following year. In 2009, she released her second studio album Echo and also composed the title track, "I See You" in the movie Avatar. Lewis also debuted "Collide," a joint project with Swedish DJ Avicii. The year 2011 saw her also released Hurt an extended performance on her EP debut. Her album Glassheart, her third studio effort, Glassheart (2012), marked a new creative direction for Lewis taking the inspiration of dubstep and electronic music. Her Glassheart Tour was in the beginning of 2013, as she began recording music to create her first Christmas album. Christmas, With Love was released later that year and its lead single, "One More Sleep", peaked at number three on the charts in the UK. It led to Lewis to be the first British woman solo artist to achieve the top fivespots with eight singles. She also beat Olivia Newton-John's record of seven.
