Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenAt the age of 27 He enrolled at the National Theatre School of Denmark. He graduated in 1994. He also appeared on The Killing, a drama series that was aired across the world. He was later featured in Those Who Kill II and Borgen III, two other popular Danish drama series. He also had an important role in Sherlock which is an BBC drama where he played the role of Charles Augustus Magnussen, whose blackmailer. He played the role of the Russian president in the American television show House of Cards. In 2018, he received an International Emmy Award for his role as the president of Russia in the Danish television drama Herrens Veje. This was shown in the UK as Ride Upon the Storm in 2019. In addition to his home country of Danish, Mikkelsen speaks fluent Swedish, German and English and has learned various accents. According to Mikkelsen's testimony, he and his brother were taught English through Monty Python records.
